Developers and contractors are responsible for the safety of workers and the public at work sites under their control. Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) measures ensure that road users can travel safely through, around or past work sites on roads, footpaths and cyclepaths. TTM usually entails the placement of directive barriers and/or signs.
Any excavation on road, medians, verges or car parks also requires a Road Opening Permit. This is applied for as part of your TTM application. Roads ACT will advise you if a fee is payable upon approval of your TTM application (see Temporary Traffic Management Approval: application).
