Restricted Hire Car Accreditation

Under the Road Transport (Public Passenger Services) Act 2001 and the Road Transport (Public Passenger Services) Regulation 2002, restricted hire car service operators must be accredited by the Road Transport Authority.

The primary purpose of the legislation is to ensure that standards of safety and service are maintained, give the community confidence in public passenger hire car services and help ensure safe, reliable and efficient services.

Upon approval of an application, the Road Transport Authority will advise the applicant of the fees payable and the identifier to use if paying online.
