An individual wishing to operate as a real estate salesperson or property manager must register with the Office of Regulatory Services. Registrations expire annually on 31 October.
To be eligible for this licence, the applicant must be an adult (18 years of age or older), hold the prescribed qualifications and not be disqualified from being registered. The Agents Act 2003 lists those matters that will disqualify a person from being registered.
A number of forms are required when lodging an application, all of which are included in the application package. Fair Trading will contact the applicant when eligibility for the licence has been decided and will advise the applicant about the licence fees payable.
