Preschool Registration

The ACT Department of Education and Training provides one year of sessional preschool education for children residing in the ACT, who turn 4 years of age on or before 30 April. Children in the ACT generally attend preschool in the year prior to their entry into primary school.

Preschools are conducted in specially designed buildings and are run by qualified staff who develop an educational program based on shared understandings of early childhood education. Parents are actively involved in the administration of preschools.
