Loading zone parking permit
Vehicles that are primarily designed to carry goods can park in loading zones for the purpose of loading or unloading only. For an annual fee, a loading zone permit can be obtained for these vehicles. Permits are available for periods of 10, 20 or 30 minutes. A free 10-minute loading zone parking permit can also be obtained for station wagons that are registered for business use.
Mobility parking permits
People with mobility difficulty can obtain a special permit allowing them to park free of charge in government operated car parks. The permit is valid for use in disabled bays and in meter and ticket parking spaces. Holders of this permit may park for an unlimited period of time, unless the area is designated for a period of 30 minutes or less. In this case, a limit of two hours applies. This permit is not valid for use in other designated parking spaces such as Loading Zones, Government Vehicle, Medical Practitioner, and Community Nurse zones. The applicant and his/her doctor must complete the application form.
Residential parking permits
A permit is required to park in residential parking area at Bega, Currong, and Allawah Flats, Argyle Square and Havelock House. For Bega, Currong, and Allawah Flats, the application must be signed by the ACT Housing Area Manager or the appropriate organisation and stamped with an official stamp to certify that the person applying is a resident of those flats. No fee applies. For Argyle Square and Havelock House, the applicant must supply evidence of their occupancy and complete the application form. A fee applies for Argyle Square and Havelock House parking permits. These permits do not authorise parking in other reserved parking areas.
Government Vehicle Parking Permits
Government Vehicle Parking Permits may be purchased for parking government vehicles in specified restricted areas while the vehicle is being used for official purposes. These permits do not authorise parking in other reserved parking areas. Before parking, drivers should ensure they have a permit for the specific area.
