In order to register the death of a joint property owner, a Notice of Death by Surviving Proprietor form must be completed and submitted to the Office of regulatory Services. The original Death Certificate or a certified copy must be shown at the time of lodgement.
The Crown Lease (CL) or Certificate of Title (CT) for your property must also be presented. If the property is mortgaged and the CL or CT is with a Bank or Financial Institution, the surviving proprietor must request them to provide this to the Office of Regulatory Services.
An updated Certificate of Title will be issued upon lodgement of the form and required documentation.
