Leased Hire Car Licence

Under the Road Transport (Public Passenger Services) Regulation 2002, all vehicles used as a Hire Car must be appropriately licensed.

A person wishing to operate a Hire Car must become accredited and obtain a Leased Hire Car Licence. To obtain a Leased Hire Car Licence the applicant must complete all sections of the Application for a Leased Hire Car Licence form, make an appointment with the Road Transport Authority for the issue of a Leased Hire Car Licence and pay the determined fee.

The Road Transport Authority will advise the applicant of fees payable and the identifier to use if paying online.
