Under the Gas Safety Act 2000, it is an offence for a person to undertake the maintenance, repair or servicing of a Type A or Type B gas appliance unless they are accredited under the Gas Appliance Worker Accreditation Code. Gas Appliance Worker Accreditation is usually renewed annually but may be granted for up to three years. Applicants should note that there are several methods of application for each accreditation type. Please refer to the Guidelines for Applicants (PDF, 276kB) for details.
