Emergency Guardianship and Management

When a person lacks the ability to make their own decisions and when there are serious consequences to their health or welfare, a guardianship and/or management order may be made by the Guardianship and Management of Property Tribunal (GMPT). The guardian is usually a family member or friend, however in an emergency the Public Advocate is appointed as guardian and the Public Trustee as manager.
