Charitable Collection Licence

Under the Charitable Collections Act 2003 groups (companies, associations, unincorporated bodies) wishing to raise money for a charitable purpose must be licensed if they intend to collect over $15,000 in the Territory in any given 12 month period. The Charitable Collections legislation aims to:

• promote proper management and administration of charitable collections;
• ensure proper record keeping and auditing of accounts for charitable collections; and
• ensure that the public has access to information about charitable collections.
