A Car Market Operator's Licence may be held by an individual or company. Licences may be issued for periods of up to one year and usually expire on 30 November.
Individual applicants (or in the case of a company, both directors) must meet the eligibility criteria and public notification of the application must be placed in a daily newspaper circulating in the ACT within 7 days before lodging the application. A copy of the advertisement must accompany the application. A number of forms are required when lodging an application, all of which are included in the application package. Police records checks and other documents supporting the application are required.
Office of Regulatory Services will contact the applicant when eligibility for the licence has been decided and will advise the applicant about the licence fees payable.
